PT Bukit to raise coal price for Power Plant by 13% - 02 Jul, 2008
Bloomberg reported that PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam will raise prices of the fuel sold to a power plant in Banten province by 13 %.
PT Bukit in a statement to the Indonesia Stock Exchange said that it will charge the Suralaya power plant in Banten IDR 617,900 for every tonne of coal, up from IDR 544,750 a tonne.
Mr Nurtimah Tobing head of investor relations, said that “We have agreed on the new prices for July to December delivery.”
He added that record prices for coal burned by power stations prompted PT Bukit Asam to increase the amount it charges its biggest customer for the third time this year.
